1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store on your device. Similar technologies — such as localStorage — let a site remember a small amount of information between page loads. We use these sparingly, and only for the two purposes described below.
2. The categories we use
This is a static marketing website. We keep the categories deliberately small and describe each one honestly rather than listing trackers we do not run.
- Strictly necessary (always on) — a single small store that remembers your own cookie-consent choice, so we do not ask you again on every visit and so we know whether analytics may load. This is essential to make the consent banner work, it is always on, and it cannot be switched off. It holds only your preference; it does not identify you or track you across other sites.
- Analytics (consent-based, off by default) — anonymous, aggregated product analytics that help us understand how the marketing pages are used and improve them. This category loads only after you accept analytics cookies in the consent banner. If you do nothing, or decline, it is never loaded and sets nothing.
3. Analytics — Microsoft Clarity
Our only analytics provider is Microsoft Clarity (clarity.ms). Clarity gives us anonymous, aggregated insight into how visitors use these public pages — for example heatmaps and session-replay of the marketing pages — so we can see what is confusing or unused and fix it. It is used for product analytics only; we do not use it for advertising.
Clarity is consent-gated: its script is loaded only after you accept analytics cookies through the consent banner. If you decline, Clarity is never loaded and sets no cookies. You can withdraw this consent at any time — see “Managing your choices” below — and once withdrawn, Clarity stops loading on your future visits.
4. What we do not do
We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell your data. There are no pre-ticked boxes: analytics stays off until you actively opt in.
5. Managing your choices
You are in control of the analytics category. You can:
- Use “Manage cookies” — open the consent banner at any time to accept or decline analytics, or to change a choice you made earlier.
- Use your browser settings — most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies and local storage for any site. Clearing this site’s storage will also reset your consent choice, so the banner will ask again on your next visit.
Declining analytics does not break the site — every page works exactly the same either way. Only the strictly-necessary consent store remains, because it is what records your decision.
6. This policy covers the marketing website only
This cookie policy applies to the public Vidyom website. Personal data processed inside the Vidyom product — student, parent and staff records held on behalf of a school — is governed instead by our Privacy Policy and the DPDP Act, 2023, where the school acts as the Data Fiduciary and Vidyom as its Data Processor.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if we change the analytics or storage the website uses. We will post any change on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
